Easy and Zesty Ham Glaze
There is almost nothing I like better than a giant ham- especially when it comes with cheesy scalloped potatoes. This is a really quick and delicious glaze that offers a little more zip than the regular clove or honey mustard version. Double or triple depending on the size of your ham because you’ll want enough to cover plus a little left over to baste with half way through cooking.
Ingredients
- zest & juice from 1 lg lemon
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary finely chopped (Thyme is a good substitute)
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic very finely minced
- splash of apple cider vinegar
- salt & pepper
Directions
Whether you boil & then bake your ham or just shove it in the oven, remove the thick fat on top (if you boil- do this after) then score the remaining fat. Rub glaze into ham (saving enough to baste with later)
I also like to take my zested lemons and cut them into thick wheels for the ham to sit on while it bakes- it just adds more yummy lemon zing!
Bake ham as you normally would and remove for 20 minutes early, baste and re-glaze and bake uncovered for final 20 minutes.
